Hardware

Systesms can be developed to utilise Frame Grabbers, NI Compact Vision systems or IEEE 1394 cameras.

Pattern and Geometric Matching

This system is configured to search and locate pre-defined patterns/geometric shapes within a defined region of interest. The algorithms utilised are resistant to noise, blurring, rotation, lighting and scale changes.

Optical Character Recognition

Systems can be configured with OCR which is capable of identifying all types of fonts, characters and symbols. The software is capable of recognising individual characters, symbols or complete words and can also read Barcode in 1D, Matrix or PDF417 formats.

Colour/Intensity Inspection

Check for colour matching by either RGB levels or matching against a pre-defined template. Intensities can be measured of a pre-defined region of interest, levels are indicated in a range of 0 to 255 grey scale.

Gauging

Perform critical non-contact measurements including distance, geometric angles, areas and size.

Object Classification

Detect objects (wrong part, missing part, damaged part), inspect and soft parts.

At Abtest we also have the capability to design and manufacture bespoke mechanical handling and holding fixtures utilising our in-house Model Shop/Toolroom.

Vision systems can be integrated into complex production lines to speed up inspection of parts or can be used as stand alone test systems which can remove the need for operator intervention.
